BMW Eurofest & Autocross 10/18 - 10/19
#1
If you need something to do to fill the weekend after the track day, then I've got a deal for you!
Every October, BMW puts on a car show called Eurofest at the plant in Greer. It's $25 per car to attend. Their website is http://euroautofestival.com .
It's a pretty cool car show with 'offshoot' events like a scenic drive, BMW plant tours, and such, but the real fun is the autocross!
On Saturday, 10/18 the SC Region of the SCCA organizes and runs an autocross for the Eurofest attendees. They pay $20 to run cars provided by BMW around the course. I hear we'll be getting Z4's this year, and I'm praying for the SMG paddle-shifter variety! Anyway, if you want to flog someone else's car around the course, it's a great opportunity to do so! Folks that volunteer to work at the autocross won't be charged the $25 admission fee, will still get to drive the Z4's (after the event is closed on Saturday), and will have their entry fee for Sunday's autocross waived! I think I'll lead a group of folks from the plant over to 'The Beacon' afterwards for dinner. The Beacon is somewhat of a legendary 'greasy spoon' hamburger joint in Spartanburg -- http://www.beacondrivein.com
On Sunday 10/19 we get to use the same lot (different course) for a regular SCCA autocross -- open to anyone and any car. Folks that volunteer to work at SATURDAY's BMW autoX will get to run on Sunday free of charge. We'll plan to grab dinner after the event, too.
Registration details for Sunday's event are here: www.scr-scca.com
Cost is $20 for SCCA members and $25 for non-members
Registration closes at 9:45 am
Anyone interested?

EuroFest is a great event...wide variety of imported cars and good vendor selection. You never know what's going to show up. Last year I saw a 1966 Lamborghini 350 GT...first one I ever saw for real since it's debut in Road and Track in '66.
This year's featured marque is Rolls Royce.
Hope to see you there! Maybe I can con one of you Zaino pros into watching my vendor space while I go for the $20 drive in a Bimmer.

I took my MINI to EuroFest last year as it was the featured marque. Great event - did the BMW plant tour and the car show which was a lot of fun, plus we had a MINI-only romp up to Caesar's Head (similar to the Dragon) and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Beautiful cars were everywhere. I bought more Zaino from Steve too!
Hopefully I'll get my JCW back in time for this year's event (flood damage).

I'll be there for both days as well. I'm just hoping I don't get stuck with an auto, or 2.5 variety Z4 That would be a bit less fun.
Also, Highlander, I think you meant that people who work on saturday get to run on sunday for free, right?
