Default Axle Nuts

Well, I've been getting the pops that everyone says is the axle nuts not being torqued enough. I stopped by the Honda Dealership to see what they'd charge for 5 min of work and it was $50 .

If anyone local (Cary would be awesome) has a 36mm socket and a breaker bar I could use, I'd be indebted forever. Really don't want to spend $30 in tools that I already have (didn't bring much with me since I moved to an apartment).

Hey Jack (damn i actually remembered your name )

I have the tools to do it including a 250lb Torque wrench. I have a right rear bearing going bad and I am just waiting on the parts to come in to do the work, should be here Tuesday. It is not a bad idea if you are going to do this to just get new axle nuts and change them, the threads can get stretched out some over time and it is hard to get them to tighten down enough. I think the stealership has them in stock for like $5, it is the one they use on all of there cars.

Anyway just let me know what your schedule is and we can set something up.

Kevin

Do you have something to unstrike the nuts?

I might have a punch in my tool bag - gotta check. If not, I can pick one up.

I hope it's not a CV. If it is, Kevin knows a fix.

Thanks again Kev for your help with my problem.

I work at chris leith dodge in wake forest... stop by any time and I'll be glad to help.

it makes it really easy if you can take the center caps off your rear wheels first

Well, my popping came back... Yay

I guess it's time to do the hubs and bearings? Any recommended places to get the parts?
