Okay. So I'm starting to get interested in some auto cross races and stuff and i was wondering where are some places i can go to watch some cars do some runs around the track? Like is there anywhere who does weekly events or who have open tracks to let people just come and track their car? Ive tried googlng and can't find any. i live in spartanburg sc. but I'm willing to travel a couple of hours to come out and watch some events/races and maybe even run my car. i don't have much tracking experience but id like to start making some runs. Auto-x Event at CMP next weekend(Carolina Motorsport park) on the track should be a blast!! Probably not going to be great for a novice but you should look into it!

You should go to the website for SCR and CCR region SCCA and check out their schedule. All their events are close-ish to you, most centered in Charlotte or central SC. Screw watching, show up and drive! Seize the moment and jump in....no experience required or necessary!

You should look for Solo events from either club. Go to the forum pages on either club's site and look for an events thread about upcoming ones. Sometimes the web page is not updated regularly, but the forums are always buzzing about upcoming event's. Come out to CMP next weekend. Several s2k's are registered, including myself. Look for me and grab a ride-along if you want!

 

that would be awesome but i I'm currently out of the country until august 1st. whenever i get back id definitely like to come for a ride along!

 

CCR has an event August 11th at zMax in Concord. Should be about a 1-1.5 hour drive from you, and it is one of the best sites in NC/SC. You should definitely drive in that one.
