I will have to disagree with you here B. My recent dynos have shown my stock AP1 to pull increasing HP up to 8800-8900 before the power starts slacking off. After bolt-ons and tuning, the power starts to slack a bit earlier around 8600, but still remains above the HP at 8200 all the way to redline.
I own an 00 AP1 and have only test-driven an AP2 once, but that test drive made me happy I bought an AP1. For somr reason, the 07 I test drove just felt... dead to me. Like I was disconnected from the car and the road. Everything was a bit mushy, and the traction control kept kicking on and spoiling my fun (I know this can be disabled, but still...)
Being an only-AP1-owner, I am pretty biased though.
