Man just go to the court date, explain the situation and that you do not usually drive like that. Basically plead "guilty without intent" and it's possible the judge will even drop it to minimum fine.

As far as having a clean record don't worry about it. They're referring to felonies or violent misdemeanors (basically what is stated above)

You really should get a lawyer if you are worried about it. I always get a lawyer if I get a speeding ticket, because your insurance premiums will usually go up if you just plead guilty and pay the fine. Any lawyer can get that taken care of for you with no points on your license and it won't cost much more than the cost of the ticket. I have had speeding tickets taken care of for $200-250. Definitely sounds like what you should do.

Good luck

Being that you are in my area I can give you some first hand experience. I got a ticket on the interstate about 2 years ago. Right near mall drive. I went and tried to fight it but they only reduced the number of points and the fine amount. I still got hit on my insurance.

My friend just got a ticket in hanahan. He went to court and pleaded guilty but they gave him some information on how to get the points removed. He was able to go to driving school for a saturday. The website is www.911drivingschool.com. He took the class locally for $65.

Good luck!

if this is your first speeding ticket ever you'll probably just be given a prayer for judgement, meaning you won't get any points and it won't go on your record as long as you don't get another ticket in the next 3 years.

They don't have that amazing loophole down here in SC. Believe me I have a NC driver's license but go to school down here in SC. I've dealt with cops and lawyers in both states. Currently working with a N Charleston lawyer now because the stupid officer doesn't understand that careless operation automatically changes to reckless driving.

Get a lawyer...some of the cops down here have been real asses to me for no reason. PM me and I'll send you the phone number of the one I use. He's really good and he'll tell you a lot of info without you paying a single cent. Just talk to him and see what he says.

no offense to anyone on here.
