Depending on how quickly you want to get there or back, there are some nice roads you can take through Bat Cave, Lake Lure, etc, to get to Asheville. Once you're there, there are plenty of places to go.

Loved the area!! Blue ridge park way was incredible. Went yesterday when I first got there and then took it part of the way back. Also went to the top of mount Mitchell which was really cool. Cold up there and fairly sketchy drive!
Had some great food at mellow mushroom and also went to tepulo honey I think it's called. Delicious!!
Really loving the Mustang as well. It's really a ton of fun!
Few pictures of my new Mustang I took up on blue ridge parkway.

Nice pictures.
Last Spring I was on a business trip and Avis upgraded me to a new Mustang with the track package.
The steering angle was inconsistent and the transmission kept lurching up and down gears for no reason. I was trying to navigate California traffic and learn a new car that drove horribly while my colleague in the passenger seat was chewing my ear, "Your driving is making me sick," and "Why do they add buttons that don't do anything?" It was awful!
Then I noticed on instrument cluster that my colleague's "nothing buttons" were switching the driving style between normal, rain, sport, snow, track, etc. When I was done scolding him like a six-year-old, the other problems magical went away.
I've never been a fan of Ford, but I have to say it is an awesome car! The emblem puddle lights were a nice touch. My only complaint would be that they put the performance switch in the center console where knuckleheads and children can play with them.

Oh really? haha didn't know they had those in Charlotte. Good to know! I'm a picky eater so limits options sometimes unfortunately. We spent most of the time last night just bouncing around breweries. Finally just got some farmburger which was really good. I was planning to go do curate but unfortunately they were closed yesterday.

great pics - Yeah, Mt. Mitchell is a fun drive. If you keep going east you can come down 80 which is fun twisty road!
Man - I'm going to miss having these roads in my back yard...
