Don't do it!! Insurance rates on the S2000 are already too high, don't you go adding to it.

And another thing. My electricity was off for 2 hours because some jackass took out an electric pole.

Y'all keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm going to try to make my way home before all the other crazies get out on the roads.

It took an hour, but I'm home safe and sound. One minor fishtail, but otherwise no problems. I stopped to help someone that slid off the road and was partially blocking my lane. I got worried coming down the hill infront of my subdivision with about 5 or 6 cars off the road on either side, but I came down it fine. It's good to be home and I'm glad I made it without incident. Lesson learned!

I got told in no uncertain terms that "not coming in would be the wrong decision".
Bryan, that is ridiculus... I know people at times take advantage of these situations, but to "force" people to put themselves at risk for property damage or bodily injury is really stupid management. Most often I decide to chance the 30 mile drive to work, but it is MY decision. If you are mandated to take a risk that you do not want to take then the management of your company should be

I saw a kid in my neighborhood this morning using his hot wheels as a sled....was quite amusing. All cars are in a garage somewhere...tried riding my bike for shats and laughs...that didn't last long.

Well, I can comfortably say the closest my S got to the snow was feeling the draft under the garage door
But hey, i turned on the heater in the garage and dropped the top. blared the music. CLOSE ENOUGH

But I kinda feel your pain. We are a 24x7 shop, which the company considers crucial. So we must be manned all the time, xcpet maybe if the building blew up (but I figure they would figure something out for us to work). Yesterday, I didnt come in, but had the honor of burning a vaction day as payment

But Brian, I cant express how nice it is to have a beater. even w/my truck as rear wheel drive 4x2, she managed just fine getting out of my icerink of a neighborhood/driveway. As i am a pretty good driver on ice/snow, you would have to pay me the 32k for a new S b4 I took her out!!!

I got stranded Sunday afternoon coming back to Greenville from Columbia. I had hoped to beat out the worst of it, but called it quits at a Comfort Inn on exit 52 on 26 (just before the split into 385). Around 4pm yesterday I made the trip down 385 to 85 and then to Pelham Road. It took almost 2 hours and there were more than a few tense moments, but the S and I made it home without a scratch.

Saw tons of trucks and SUVs off the side of the road. I had a jacka$$ in a Mustang get pissed at me because I was creeping along so slowly. He finally passed me. About 2 hills later I saw him off the side of the road.

The car did better than I expected, but I think it was the agonizingly slow speed and lots of prayer that got us home safe! Never again!
