I need some tire suggestions. I have my new wheels on order and I need to get them fitted with a little rubber.
The tire sizes are Front: 225/40-18 ; Rear: 255/35-18
I have searched on Tire Rack and here are my options (or at least what I have narrowed it down to)
1. Bridgestone S-03; $806 for all 4 tires
2. Kumho ECSTA Supra 712; $504 for all 4 tires
3. Pirelli P7000; $558 for all 4 tires
I had the P7000 on my OZ's and they were not too bad. Good grip on the twisties and good in the rain. Basically, I am curious about the Kuhmos and the s-03's. There is a huge price difference (as you see) and I want to know if it is worth the extra $$$.
My second question is: I need a good tire shop in the Raleigh/Durham area to put the tires on my rims. I have heard some bad stories about scratched lips, etc.... So I want to avoid that at all cost.
Thanks in advance.

McNair has done mine without a problem. A little expensive tho' $25 per tire out the door.
Tire rack will drop ship straight to Mcnair. They are accross the street from the Angus Barn.
I'm happy with the Kumhos, pretty good in the dry and very good in the wet..

I had a set put on my first S2000 at Mcnair and they scratched the wheels. On my new S2000 I went to Discount tire on six forks road, they have the new machine that does not scratch the wheel. They will also get the tires for a good price. It would be worth the trip to check them out.

I have to agree with E-Heezy. I also had Hubcap Heaven install my new tires on my 'S', and they did a bang up job. It's a performance shop, so they tend to show a bit more care than the "wham, bam, here's your new tires installed" chains.
Two thumbs up.

Matt,
I would look into the Yoko AVS ES 100's. Just another option if your not looking to spend the xtra $ on the S03's. The yoko's are a good all around tire and are quite impressive on dry pavement (after a good break-in). I recommend Discount Tire off Six Forks. They have the most recent Hunter equip and did a fine job mounting and balencing my yoko's on the bbs wheels. Good Luck!!
