Still on the fence, and probably won't make a final call until later tonight. If I was convinced the rain would hold off till 1 or 2 then I think it would still be worth it. I'm worried, however, that as soon as it rains the speed of the laps is going to take a nose dive (for good reason probably).

I'm going with my buddy and we're gonna leave Raleigh at 7. We plan to stay until it starts to really rain. I'll keep an eye out for you guys tomorrow.

Ok I've decided to go tomorrow. Should be able to get in a run or two, and who knows maybe it won't rain at all. For anyone meeting at either Hillsborough or Semora try to let me know tonight if you can so I'll know who to look for. Otherwise you can feel free to show up at either place and we'll just leave at the listed times.

7am at hillsborough
and
8am at semora

unless you guys want to leave earlier....I'm open.

Well, the rain ended up holding off for most of the day. Sorry that more of you couldn't make it, but it was fun hanging out with Scott, Jon, and others. Overall the run groups were much smaller this year...normally this would probably be a good thing, but it meant that any lagging back was much more obvious. Still, always good to get out and do some laps around VIR.

Here's what the paddock looked like in the morning...just a little smaller turnout than previous years :

Working on a video now.

Yep, considering this was for charity it was kind of sad that the threat of rain kept so many people away.

Here are two videos I uploaded last night:

BMW M6 Ride - Horrible video because that guy was driving the wheels off that car. I have a whole new respect for those M cars even if 99% of them will never be driven like that.

Fastest Session - Those familiar with past years will notice the speeds weren't nearly as fast. Still, we all had a good time and helped out a good cause. Also I'm testing out my harrys laptimer/race render stuff....still don't have it quite right.

Grrrrrrrrrr! That's the last time I will listen to the 'weatherman'. I wanted to go and let the 'S' have some play-time, but I let the predicted rain change my mind. I DO plan on attending future charity lap days.

Here are some shots From the event yesterday. I apologize for the post-processing. I was trying out Google's new editing tools and may have gotten carried away.

It was a great time, had fun on track and met some great people...and the M6 was just mind boggling. Going into the uphill S's at around 140mph in a car that comfortably sits four adults is slightly terrifying, especially as you feel the car lift and float over the curbing. Big smokey powerslides at the beginning of the lap were a nice touch too.

Looks like I missed out then, sadly. Nice pictures, but WAY too much on the post processing on a few.
