I know someone with a brand new Accord and they are sharp cars. The coupe's look great. I would consider the TSX or TL though if it were me

Well, it has been 13 years since Linda has had a brand new car -- after almost 30 years of putting up with me, she deserves a new one to replace the 98 Ody. Here are the criteria:

No more Mommymobile minivans (but may keep the 98 as a DD for me)

Good trip car for our travels

Good DD to/from work in city/suburban traffic

Doesn't have to be fast, but should have respectable road manners

Good fuel economy -- 30 mpg +/- hwy

We are diehard Honda owners, so I guess it will be one of: Civic, Accord, or TSX.

Thanks

PS to Airgate -- I know Anna has had both an '06 Civic and an '08 Accord, both coupes, right? -- how do they compare?
I actually think you're describing a 3-series BMW.

No 30mpg, but high 20s is attainable. They're wonderful cars.

new accord (coupe or sedan) or a slightly used TL would definitely do the trick. I would lean towards the TL over the accord though.

Thanks for all the great advice. We did not have a chance to go look/drive this weekend, but you all have given us a long list to check.

She really wants a new car, so that puts the TL or a 3-series outside the budget. May look anyway, who knows?

Hell, I thought of another one, especially if you guys are stuck with getting something brand new.

Mazda 3.

It's really one of my favorite cars at the moment. Well built, reliable, great seats, affordable, great fuel mileage, lots of room for people and stuff.

Yeah...but a BMW 3 Series in Greenville/Spartanburg is sooooooooooooo common with the BMW plant being in Spartanburg.

I'm also a fan of the Mazda 3 -- especially the wagon/hatchback. Great little cars.

Meh...I test drove an IS250 with Anna...it was "okay." Not sure I'm a fan of the "Lexus Status" that comes along with that car. If I had to buy one, I think the IS350 would be the way to go! But the IS itself is a tad pricey... I wasn't a fan of the interior...I didn't like how all the gauges, etc were literally on top of me...I'm used to an interior that is a little more set back (excluding the S).
