FS - Desmond Koenig 17x8 17x9 +35 3 Piece wheels w/ Tires (Raleigh/Greensboro)
Possibly selling my wheels/tires to go with a different setup.
Specs are 17x8 +35 front 17x9 +35 rear. These are authentic desmond wheels imported from japan, very hard to find. They are a true 3 peice wheel. Faces and lips have been professionally polished and look great, inner barrels show some age but arent that bad.
Selling with tires. sumitomo htr-z lll. 1k miles on them and they look like new. 245/40 rears 225/45 fronts.
To fit this setup you will need a roll front and rear with tabs relocated in the rear. I am pretty low on BC coilovers and do not rub with this setup (except maybe in the front at low speed turns up a crooked driveway. My fenders still look completely stock, had ZERO pulling done to fit this setup. Running rougly 2.5-3 camber in the rear. I can hook you up with a couple people in the raleigh or triad area that can do your fenders for around $100.
No curb rash whatsoever.
I am asking $1600 picked up WITH the tires. Not really trying to seperate the tires but may consider it if your serious about buying and not low balling me. I am open to serious offers but please do not low ball me. 1600 for this setup with tires is a steal. I payed over 2k all said and done.
I will drive up to 60 miles to meet or deliver.
Will try and take close ups soon.

Heres what I have found, I believe they are made in japan but im not 100% sure. Check this thread on vwvortex where a guy refinished a set of the same wheels. heres a quote from him
"After browsing the internet for a few months I finally pulled the trigger on a set of 3-piece 17x8/9 et35 Desmond Koenig Specials from VR Wheels. I liked the style of this particular wheel since it had a clean old school 5 spoke design much like O.Z. futuras. The faces and center caps are only slightly different and these do not have step lips. I never heard of Koenig Specials, so I did a little research. Turns out they are a german tuning company that specialized in Ferrari, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and Lamborghini tuning back in the 80's, so I figured they would fit nicely on a VW. They still have a website: www.koenig-specials.com and I assume they are still in business today. There are quite a few videos of their creations on youtube if your interested. The wheels themselves are made in Japan by Desmond, but the faces are stamped modia. I believe these were their original wheels that later got replaced by a similar design made by SSR. They also had wheels made by O.Z. which were the same as the pegasus."
