Would you remap a FWD turbo ?

[QUOTE=Slickline,Nov 21 2008, 10:15 AM]Fair enough, I will have to check but i think revo's sps switch stores the original map a la bluefin for use when it goes in for servicing, etc and has the 'tweaked' map

I'm taking my S3 in for a remap tomorrow.
Decided to go for Revo, I havent heard anyone say a bad thing about them, and they seem to give consistently good power with no issues.
Superchips doesnt appear very good for the s3, although I like the way the bluefin works. And GIAC seems to have given too many people issues with misfires ,although there are people who have been fine.

Don't quite know why but SC just doesn't seem to do as well with the S3 as other cars ....
Where are you having the Revo done - are you getting it RR'd at the same time for before and after figures ?

Having it done at Prosport in stockport, not too bothered about having it RR'd, as long as it feels substantially faster I'll be happy, plus I imagine it'll just show the same gains as every other revo'd s3, they seem pretty consistent, ie going from anywhere between 280 and 290 as standard to 310 to 320 with the map.
Having said that, if they have the time I might ask for a before and after run, but I imagine I'd have to pay for it.

After emailing them with my concerns they offered to load the map, check and RR for the price of the map alone to allay my fears ... which I thought was pretty good customer service.
If I went with Revo - or indeed APR - I was not going to get the car put on the rollers. I think you are right, nearly all the S3's are putting out the same when Revo'd so it would probably be a waste of money. I am sure you will feel it is going OK

had the revo remap this afternoon, didnt get a rr run done, but it feels a lot torquier, the best way i can describe it is that each gear now feels like a gear lower. seems worthwhile so far, but cant comment on any long term issues yet.

If set up well by a dealer as I'm sure it has given who did it there shouldn't be any long term issues ..... just make sure it's warmed up before giving it some
FWIW I have added the rolling road graph for my car from Superchips to my earlier post
