Why the petrol price apathy?
Unleaded is anywhere between 96ppl and 100ppl in my neck of the woods.
SUL 98ppl to 104ppl.
Yet not a word from the fuel protest lobby. So have we all just given in and accept the fact that there is nothing we can do?
What price sparked the potests of 2000? Anyone remember?
When do we expect to see the knock on effects of these high fuel prices?
Just curious after being mugged at the pump yet again

Basically, the price gets high (say 100ppl) people complain, protest then some unrelated factor causes the petrol price to drop 5-10ppl.
Then over time the oil market goes back on it's normal upward trajectory and at some psychological cut off point, (I'd guess 110-120ppl) there will be a protest again.

Was wondering this myself yesterday.
Why no protests from the fuel lobby is probably due to the fragmentation of the organisation. IIRC there was a lot of bitter in fighting at the time that came to a head after the protests with splinter groups created by different personalities.
Wouldn't mind betting Bliar's henchmen in Scotland Yard were behind it all.
