It's a really well-written article, which summarises the situations very well.
It sort of encapsulates how they've gone from being the Japanese BMW to the Japanese Hyundai in a decade, replacing class-leading technology with physical size.
It's sort of like someone's been rummaging round in one's mind and filed all the stuff neatly on a piece of paper.

Same as Toyota really,look at what thay used to make, starlet turbo, Corolla GTI/ AE86, Celica GT4 Turbo, MR2 mk1,mk2 turbo,mk3, Supra Turbo plus many other JDM performance models and now their best performance model is a diesel Auris ! I think Nissan is the only Japanese manufacture that has kept one foot firmly in the performance car market

Both missing the point somewhat; Honda's reputation was based on gold-standard engineering; not necessarily high performance cars. The Honda Ballade CRX was quite slow, but great fun and it evolved into something rather better.
Toyota's HSD has the sort of cleverness associated with Honda, Lexus is very good at what it does and the styling is finally resolved, unlike Acura, which is patchy.
Nissan's valvetrain technology has arguably overtaken Honda's and the Infiniti models have 4WD or 4WS as well.
Honda's SH-AWD has not been out on a model (bar an old prototype) which demonstrated its superiority, A-VTEC is dead in the water, the styling IS patchy and no longer supremely elegant. The current Civic drives like an Astra...
The lack of any performance or halo models really is the tip of a much bigger iceberg.

Focus RS is a nice looking thing (except the matte RS500) and has a big following
Easily upgradable for a few quid with big power gains

Very interesting article and yes I agree there are no new Hondas that I'd want to see on my drive way 
They pulled the next NSX in the final stages, next S2K was put on ice, pulled out of F1 and since then they've seen their market share and image free fall. Thankfully they've now delayed the new Civic because this could be in the nail in the coffin
Come on Honda, sort it out because loyalty was one of your biggest assets
