This picture shows the cockpit of the car I might buy if that's any help. It's a May 2009 second edition Cayman S with PDK, 19" alloys, the sports chrono package, variable suspension dampening and a sound upgrade. No SatNav or phone connection tragically but if I can get on with the PDK it looks like a winner. Anyone got any comments about that setup?
That looks like the old PDK - not tried it but sounds gash. Stick the the new (2010?) spec PDK.

I was sorely tempted to go for a Cayman R last time I was at the dealership, but find a good Cayman Sport or Cayman S model and you will be getting an awesome car.

1961.

It was only then that Borgward Macht Weiter actually started making cars that anybody really wanted: all their nice antique cars were stolen by Bristol/EMW.

Me too. E92 means the coupe, E90 is a saloon etc etc

One in the local garage but stupidly over priced.
But I drive past it every day and it IS affordable, early M3 E92s now making about £27k

I went for the May 2009 second edition Cayman S with PDK in the end. Thanks for all of your help!

Go for the Z4 M coupe ( i know im biased) its not as new as some of the suggestions but you will get a good one for 20k another 5k will see it supercharged giving around the 500hp range
its fast enough with the standard 340 hp and not full of electric driver aids, also its very rare.
PS if your other half has more than a B cup you might want to invest in a good sports bra, its very hard suspension
