Great fun, last time I went was in Leeds for a stag do. There were about 20 of us in a big Le Mans-style endurance race where teams of 3 or 4 rack up as many laps as possible in the time given. Our team won 
It is surprisingly physical though, especially when hung over!

Soreness karting? Hmmmm, are you sure it wasn't a gay bar you went to?
They do pull your arms, until you work out that it's easier to steer with the throttle.
You've got S2000s, get out & practice more!

Nicolas, you'll find that if you are cornering hard enough the ridgid plastic seat brusies your back. In fact a friend broke a rib karting last year (in fairness he did have a rather nasty accident with half the field 
)
