Default Unpleasent Experiance

I had a very unpleasent experience last night with a BMW coupe, which actually scared me. I feel as though I have to share this to get it off my chest (as they say).

I won't bore you too much with the details but a short version of what happened is below.

BMW cut me off and almost took the front off my car, I flashed him to make him aware of my presence. I took the next turn off the dual carriageway and he followed me, flashing me and indicating for me to pull over.

At this stage I was vey close to home and carried on with my journey, ignoring him.

Further down the road is a set of traffic lights that I have to turn right to go towards my house, I live in a small cul-de-sac, so there is only one way in and one way out. He followed me down the main road, still flashing and indicating for me to pull over, at this stage I was starting to panic, as I didn't want to stop or let him know where I lived.

The main road I was driving down turns into a bus lane, at this stage you have to turn left (towards my road), so rather stupidly I turned towards my road, and started to think 'how am I going to turn around'. Well I managed to get into the school grounds and drive around the car park and exit before he had the chance to block me off.

I then drove back away from my house towards the bus lane, the only chance I had at this stage to try and loose him was to go down the bus lane, if I got stopped by the poilce I could tell them that this idiot was following me. BUT he followed me down the bus lane.

At the end of the bus lane I turned left (through a red light) and headed back towards the dual carriageway (towards the police station).

He continued to follow me onto the dual carriageway, once on the dual carriageway he pulled along side of me, swerving towards me, as if to run me off the road. I kept looking forward so that we did not make eye contact. Fortunately he pulled off at the first exit.

The only details I remeber about the car is that it was an '08' plate 3 series coupe BMW. I wasn't paying much attention to the car when he cut me off, and when he was following me, he was too close for me to see his number plate (infact I couldn't see his head lights).

Sorry to ramble on, but this experience has shaken me a little, and now I am wondering if I will see him again tonight on my way home from work.

If you do, and he behaves in the same way, call the police on your mobile immediately and give them his registration.

No-one should have to put up with intimidation on the road.

Thats enough to give anyone a scare, sounds like an absolute menace, damn shame you didnt get his number plate as I'd be going straight to the Police (which you'd hope would do something about..)

I wonder just what he would have done if you'd stopped and squared up to him?

What a prat. Obviously the guy suffers bad road rage. I feel sorry for his family members when he arrived home!
My best friend had a guy pull across 2 planes of a dual carriageway to try and stop him which scared the crap out of him. He just drove around him and the car as the guy tried to kick his car.... actually thinking back I'm sure that guy drove a BMW as well.

Drive to the nearest police station if it happens again

Or use your mobile

If you see him then get his registration number and report him

There are some proper idiots, some bloke on a dual carriage way the other night in a crappy Mondeo decided he didn't want to let me past so purposely blocked me by driving at 30mph for 5 miles next to an old woman.

When I flashed my lights he brake tested me.

Funny when we got to the lights at the end and I pulled up along side him the pussy wouldn't even put his window down even though I asked him in a very unpleasent manner

Exactly what I was about to post.

I've had something like this happen before, but no where near what you've just described. On that instance I carried on going until I could find a very public place ie a busy petrol station, and pulled onto the forecourt.

That got rid of them, no one would be stupid enough to try anything in an open public area with cctv.

The main thing here is that although you got a bit shook up, you're still in one piece.

I would just put it down to experience, remembering that there really are some 'A' holes out there.

I had an experience earlier this week.

Driving down a dual carrageway - traffic slowing up ahead, some p#ick in a Escort van swerves infront of me at the very last minute and nearly took my bumper off!!

I did nothing, no lights, no horn, NOTHING.

We then went through the junction and onto another stretch of dual carriagway, he stayed in the right hand lane doing about 35 - 40mph! So after about a mile I indicated into the left lane and under took him (I know, I know)

At the the next junction he's right behind me blowing his horn and gesticulating masturbation at me!! I ignored him. He's now continually blowing his horn, again I just ignore him. I drive off normally with him behind me and knowing that everyone in the traffic is thinking what a complete, imature idiot he is. He got bored and turned off 2 miles later!! P#ick!!

Just ignore them .......and carry on.....but don't put yourself in any danger along the way. Get on a dual carriageway or motorway and just keep driving, they'll get bored eventually.
