Default UK cleaning products

Hi Guys,

I've looked trough the threads regarding cleaning my S2000, but they all seem to point to American products. Could anyone point me to a relevant thread which shows the best UK products to use (particularly for the vinyl roof), or, if anyone has any suggestions of which UK products to use?

Had the car for 2 days and loving it intensely, never thought i'd look forward to cleaning a car!

Cheers 'n' Beers

Perfect!

Thanks for that, i didn't want to use any old cleaners that are the equivalent to fairy liquid in disguise.

Depends on what your aversion to The Great Satan is; Meguiars products are septic tank, but widely available here & Tango Man says they're basically fine. That's why I use them, mostly.

The only truly British ones I know of are Autoglym (are they still in Letchworth?) and they're OK, if they were a bit basic. I've got a bottle that I use on the kitchen & on door shuts & stuff.

I understand that some of the German ones (eg Sonax) are very highly thought of in tests, without going to the silly end of Zymoel &sw.

You may also have read about the Zaino range, and they're sold by UK based Advanced Car Products, from whom discounts are available to S2K UK members.

I was always a Zaino man, myself ...

My god, it's a mine field. My wife recently bought a horse and i was ribbing her about the amount she spent on accessories; i may be eating my words...

Zaino are septic too.

I try to look after the cars, but I'm basically lazy (my idea of a water deioniser is a rainwater butt on the end of the Kaercher) and Pinnacle Crystal Mist makes it look like I've just waxed them when I've just washed them.

But I cannot get too excited about these high-end car cosmetics.

In fact, now there seems to be a far king bubble bath for cars; it's really got a bit silly.

I agree with a lot of what has been said, especially Nicks last 2 points, however if you have a look in my signature there are some nice tips on how to clean your car , where to get the products what to buy etc.

Just this week I started a thread on the strengths and merits of a quick half hour car wash with the appropriate product and where to buy it here

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...pic=614360&hl=

You too might find that product of interest Nick given your views on 'detailing'

Thanks for all tips etc; it's given me a good overview on the topic. I suppose it's a case of trial and error and finding the correct solution for each individual.
