thanks everyone for their thoughts, sounds as tho my original thoughts are shared by the majority aswell (which is a shame), i dont drive the S everyday but quite frequently and have to say it still puts a grin on my face when i do i just sometimes wish it had that extra bit of of 'something' (not sure what exactly) im sure if i put a new exhaust on it that made a bit more noise maybe, & did something to increase the lower down power / pick up speed then id be able to banish these daft TVR thoughts from my head for another year or 2 (Ive been hankering for a TVR for the last 5 years and so far never plucked up the courage to buy one - one day maybe tho

bang for buck, the cars are unbeatable

as Alex says, wgaf about panel gaps?

you're not buying a BMW, so don't expect BMW qc (I know, I know, maybe not the best example, but you know what I mean)

I think they make a great prospect as a 2nd hand toy - see my first sentence - and what else is there to match outside of exotica?

but like my Ferrari, a bit of a mad first car choice

ps I don't own one, but I wouldn't rule it out one day - 420 SEAC.......

Hi

Ignore Craig; I'm sure he's got shares in Honda

I'll give you my unbiased opinion as a ex Tamora owner (the 350 is the same underneath the body)

First thing to make clear is you have to be a car nut and a hard core one at that! The build quality is rubbish, that's not to say it's going to break down all the time because mine never broke down or failed to start once(this is more common than you think), but the trim and interior are not very well designed or very well secured like on the "normal car". Leaks are common but can be fixed with a trip to dealer. If you don't mind trips to the dealer to sort niggles and leaks, you

Subaru2000 - Looks like youve gone down the route ill be going down, the safe and sturdy choice of a 996, i do miss the badge snobbery of the porker on the front of the bonnet but ill have to work a little harder and save tho as it will have to be the turbo to that of the non turbo which is why im so tempted with the idea of a TVR as for a reasonable (ish) about of money you get a lot of car but I think i may have to go back down the german route in the not too distant future

The ownership experience a TVR brings is special. There aren't many cars you can say that about.

I must have one of the best build TVRs ever because the build quality of my is fine. As Gad said its no BM, but the design is something else.

As for the handling, its every bit as good as the S IMO and what makes it FAR better for me is that its not twitchy at all like the S is.

I can't see any reason why you (and many others) dont get one? If it starts costing too much or is too much hassel then sell it, but at least you'll have had one - "Its better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all"
