you can allways print out a fake covernote, but if you get busted they will do you for fraud

does the producer have check or it or check and record?

i was thinking of fake cover note as well but im scared they can check the data base

also try and find someone with a cover all policy, my mate has his own company and their policy says anyone can drive any car at any time if instructed to do so by anyone named on the policy
i just got handed a bit of paper with the terms doesnt say anything about produce or record

Sorry to hear this

I think you are on a sticky wicket.

Is it a criminal or civil offence?

Worst you'll get is a fine I think.

Best thing is to be honest and hope that the police don't pursue it.

Really hope it gets sorted

Sorry to see you have been caught by the 'change' in insurers attitude towards fully comp policy holders!

Whilst it is ultimately your responsibility to make sure you are covered I thought most fully comp policies covered third party on other cars. It was only a year or two ago I noticed quite a few were not.

I have 2 policies - one covers me third party on 'anything' but the other (on my TVR) doesn't. The TVR insurer never mentioned it - but then, it is for a limited mileage policy. Still, it would have been nice to have this pointed out given how serious it could end up !

If you produce they should notice your policy doesn't cover you. If they don't (given the level of some staff now employed) then you have had a result. If you are reported then the 'standard' penalty is 6 points and

Just turn up with all your documents and hope they overlook it - not much else you can do - but when they see that it wasn't your car, I'm pretty sure it will be the first thing they check.

Just say you didn't realise you insurance company had removed the cover, they might be a little forgiving if they know you do have a fully comp policy on another car?
