TBH this would be the preferred option.
I think the company are slightly worried about the mileage. As I said they haven't really operated a company car policy before, so the flat rate allowance is new to them.
I could really push it and see if I can get a fuel card but I don't think they'll go for it!

I was getting 40mpg on a recent road trip when cruising on motorways although that was running super unleaded and like s2000s is the recommended.

I'm 6'0 and 99% of the time the back seats won't be used.
The back seats won't be used for 100% of the time.
