Default Too many miles in my S

I have now got a new job and the round trip is about 60 miles so clocking up loads of mileage on my poor S. I am thinking of getting a second car as a runner to and from work as I don't think I could part with my S2000, any one got any ideas on what to get? I was thinking a diesel and cheap but reliable.

60 miles isn't really that heavy. I doubt a diesel would be worth it for that commute.

Probably better with a small petrol shopping wagon like a Fiesta.

We use a fiat panda with a 1.3 multijet diesel engine. Cruises comfortably and quietly at 70-75 mph and returns over 60mpg.

For real beater cheapness maybe do over some old codger for his/her 1.5D Corsa? Ideal for the job according to some friends who tuck up their cars for the winter...
