Time for a different car

Time for a different car
I think it is time for a new car, recently started a new job with lots of travel in the UK, have kept with the S2000 over the last month but clocking up 500 -1000 miles each week - it makes the mileage fun but think something more relaxing to drive and with more practical luggage space is a must.
Not decided if I will keep the S2000, at the moment I think it is worth holding on to it until the new year and the weather gets better.
I am looking to spend 13-16k for something 2-4 years old depending on price and condition, most likely a diesel is my best bet with the high mileage.
My preferred list at the moment is
BMW 5 Series
Mercedees C Class
Saab 93
Subaru Legacy (not sure what their diesel is like)
Have I missed anything off here .....
I took a trip to Cargiant in White city last weekend to get a feel for the cars and what I could get for the money, there were only a few 5 series and generally a bit tatty. There was quite a good selection of C class Mercedes.
Have I missed anything off the shopping list ?? Also any experiences of Mercedes C class diesels
Thanks
