SPECS doesn't stop crashes shocker
The main north/south road near me, the A77 has long been known as a dangerous road due to the number of crossroads across the dual carriageways. For years excessive speed was blamed for the large number of fatal accidents on the road.
I know this isn't true, as the stretches with crossroads on I have been doing 120mph through and have been able to slow in time if someone pulled out in front of me. I did this by anticipating a c**t. Everyone on the road is a potential c**t, so I drive accordinly so that I can avoid their stupidity. I have been doing just 55mph in torrential rain when an idiot pulled in front of me to cross whilst only being around 50 yards in front of me! The only way I avoided that one was by swerving onto a slip road and back on to the main carriageway. As I banged my horn, and began my emergency manouvre the woman in the 4x4 which pulled out turned round and started shouting at ME! This incident was caused by sheer stupidity, not speed.
But the Strathclyde Police think differently and imposed a SPECS system which runs for nearly 10 miles on just one stretch (another stretch further down lasts for much more than that), but the other day we had another crash, a fatal one at that. This time involving a Police car driving North, and a woman in a 4x4 (what a surprise, as they are usually such intelligent and aware drivers), who was crossing the dual carriageway to travel South.
So assuming the Police were keeping within the speed limits for the SPECS system, what caused the crash? A f**king idiot crossing the carriageway when they shouldn't I would guess! What kind of camera are you going to implement which prevents that?!
Tossers.
