Default So this is what it must be like to drive a Beemer

Just had a reasonably quick drive home in my Impreza and am amazed by the reaction of other drivers. One guy called me a w*nker and tried to race me when I overtook him, and two other drivers flashed and shouted obscenities at me as I was overtaking them.

In the S or my 200SX I never had such a reaction. (In the S, people were just too busy staring at the car to care about the driver )

All you (good) Beemer drivers have my deepest sympathy.

One other thing before I finish my rant, don't you just hate people who leave no space between themselves and the car in front and get really p1ssed off when you have to push in

I feel so much better for that.

Gotta agree with Frisky, I'm afraid.

My own personal bugbear is those drivers who pull into the space I've deliberately left between me and the car in front - especially on the motorway

That was a general remark, and does not apply to today's drive home. I didn't push in front of anyone today, honest.

Of course if I've pushed in front of someone then I'll expect their abuse Even if I was right all along.

I think it's called jealousy (my brothers got one and i just love the way people move out of his way on the motorway ) to boy racers

Nope, the space is usually there for a reason

Err, call me old fashioned, but if there is no room in front of the car you are overtaking then you should not be overtaking in the first place.

The one that kills me (although not literally - yet) is when you 're overtaking and the guy you plan to pull in behind BRAKES removing that space you've carefully planned for!

I'd also give neil_s2k a bit of support about the room bit. How many times have you arrived at the back of a 6 car queue knowing you can overtake 5 of them but they don't overtake, and don't leave space for others to do so ARRRRGGGHHHHH.

Pushing in isn't right but neither is ill considered dawdling.

I find this less of a problem with the S2k than in my XM estate

Excellent! Thanks for that Colin - that describes the majority of my frustration on the road exactly! What a great phrase.
