Sky to broadcast F1 from next year
Worst thing that could have happened to the sport IMO.

BBC only broacasting half the races - the others are highlights only.
Wonder if Brundle and Coulthard will move to Sky.
BBC were starting to produce a really world class program, but now the rug has been pulled. What a shame.
This has to cost the sport money from sponsors. Did Bernie really need the extra cash.

The deal is apparently 'aimed at increasing choice, innovation and breadth of coverage to UK fans'.
Bullshit.
I'm not the slightest bit surprised that the poison dwarf has chosen to further line his pockets this way.
Will i subscribe to sky? Possibly.

We already give Sky £24 a month. Can't say I want to give them more.
We'll see how extensive the BBC highlights are before jumping I think.
I'm more disappointed to lose the quality of coverage we have now. It's so much better than it was under ITV.

F1 coverage has never been as good as right now, we can't justify paying for Sky Sports just for F1 (not remotely interested in golf, cricket, footy)
I'm also a little concerned with the name Tony Jardine that popped up when looking through the Sky Sports website, what an awful simpering TW*T he was I really can't stand him!
"We will give Formula One the full Sky Sports treatment with a commitment to each race never seen before on UK television."
Barney Francis, Sky Sports
Presumably this means delaying the start while we are being blasted with ad's like the footy?

Sorry, it's not happening.
Sky Sports is a rip off and i'm not paying - they already have a fair wedge from me too.
If the F1 was on it's own dedicated channel for perhaps £20-30 a year, no adverts - i'd sign up.
But when you are paying (March to November) the equivalent of £160 for sh1te you'll never watch...NO.
The Internet and R5 Live looks like the way to dodge this bullet methinks

When Sky had it previously on PPV they didn't even send a commentary team across to the races. It was John Watson and Ben Edwards (who were much better than the ITV alternative) but I'd rather have Brundle and Coulthard. They just had Peter Windsor in the pitlane.
If Sky had taken the whole thing I guess there was a chance that the Beeb team might have moved too. But I can't see that happening with the half and half arrangement.
TBH I watch most F1 on Sky + now anyway, so if the BBC are going to run almost full coverage but just not live, that will have to do.

I rarely post on S2KI, but this has really got me riled today. The coverage has improved so much over the past two years on the BBC; the mix of presenters/commentators is spot-on (even Eddie is entertaining in his own way
Quote from BBC website:
Barbara Slater, director of BBC Sport, said: "We are absolutely delighted that F1 will remain on the BBC.
"The sport has never been more popular with TV audiences at a 10-year high and the BBC has always stated its commitment to the big national sporting moments.
"With this new deal not only have we delivered significant savings but we have also ensured that through our live and extended highlights coverage all the action continues to be available to licence-fee payers."
Bullsh*t - how can the BBC advertise this as a success!!!!!
