Selling car without V5?
I've had someone make me a good offer on my mondeo and he is on his way round to buy it.
I only just remembered that I haven't got the V5 back yet (which was stated on the original ad).
It can't be far away - was sent away for 2 weeks ago.
I'll say to the guy, he can give me a deposit and I won't use the car, but what happens if he wants to take it tonight as is? Is it illegal to sell a car without the V5? Have I got anything to worry about?
Quick answers please (he should be round in 30 minutes and I can't get hold of him now)

It is illegal and carries a fine, but I suppose that depends on if you get caught. I guess if the buyer is happy to wait for it, then you might not have a problem.
(I just Googled your thread title, BTW. )
