S2000's sold - new toy M3 CSL
Sold the S2000 last week, was quite sad to see it go as I'd had great fun in it over then year but am pleased to report that a week later when the guy picked up the hardtop stand he was happy with everything, always a relief when selling a car.
was a pedestrian for a couple of days but the wait was worth it as last friday I picked up a 50,000 mile M3 CSL
absolutely fantastic car, I wasn't sure I'd get on with SMG but so far it all seams good, I'd have still had a manual if they did one though.
Haven't had a chance to give a really good run as the weathers been horrible but so far it seams to do everything well. the power, the turn in and most of all the noise especially in sport mode.
Hoping to enter a few sprints over the course of the year, but not sure I'll worry the 911 GT3's
Only problem is the fairly poor MPG but I can live with that for the time being, might just have to buy a moped or catch the bus to work.

Nice, don't see too many black ones.
I've done about 10k with SMG now, it's not perfect but I'd have it over a manual any day.
I've been really impressed with the MPG on mine, is the CSL worse than standard?

I've been trying to be slightly light footed and achieving around 23mpg average which isn't too bad at all I'm just being a tight git!
my old m3 evo would do around 26-27
I should imagine it's going to be bad when driving hard.

That's a beautiful car - you must be really pleased with your purchase.
On my list of dream cars should I ever have the money.
Coming back up the M20 with the hood down on the S2000 last summer and a guy in a CSL accelerated past us to give us the benefit of that gorgeous engine noise. Beautiful.

Great cars and the SMG is great when you get used to it.
The sports button doesnt really do anything except sharpen the throttle response, WOT is WOT sport button or not it will go and sound the same as it does. I never use my sport button - can be a bit jumpy, especially when cold!
The settings on the SMG gear box do make a difference though, have a good play with those, especially S6
