They are allowed studded tyres! Much easier to buy winter tyres in Germany

The old man always had fond memories of his first taxi ride in Milan. It was a Fiat 124 with studded tyres driven by the usual wannabe F1 driver.

He used to enjoy terrifying my brother and me with his driving, but he said this guy was just unbelievable ...

Or as was mentioned before, keep the S and use a forward facing seat - LoweW will be big soon. HaleC was in a forward facing seat by 6 months, maybe earlier.
WOW!

That is a serious amount of car for not a lot of money and just 3 years old. The depreciation on that is horrific, but what a car!!

Oh if only I had the money!

Never had an issue with my wife's 3 series in the snow.

Just turn the traction control off!

I was going to suggest you try an Impreza, I was very pleasantly surprised by mine but you said not too chavvy so that's out, as is an Evo.

BMW is a bit of a dull option, it's not like they're rare on the roads.

A 911 would be fun and for £25k there's a fair selection of 996s about and you'd just about squeeze a 997 in. Non-dealer prices aren't so eye-watering but it's worth finding if there's one close to you as from experience withthe Lotus, if the specialist is a long way off and you need work doing, you end up using the dealer anyway.
Same thing with a Jag XK - specialist care isn't too expensive and they're a nice place to be, if a little 'old man'.

Then there's always something more leftfield - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2396100.htm

Otherwise it really does look like a 'hot' version of a rep-mobile....
996 might be an option though they are getting a bit long in the tooth.

I suspect i'd be looking at a leggy or rough 997 for the budget.

I've also just discovered a Porsche specialist just round the corner from me....

QP would be nice but not a realistic proposition.

Might have a look at the XK jags too, though again they are a bit old for me.

I probably could find a way to hang on the S long enough for LoweW to grow enough to fit into a forward facing seat, but I've had an S2000 for around 8 years now so i'd just like something different.

Monaro isn't going to happen. Just not for me.

I'm very happy with my Z4 M coupe, only 588 in the uk so quite rare, not as technically advanced as some M's so standard dampers etc, servicing is not so bad as it's milage or 2 years.
