The new S2000 won't be available until I've paid off my mortgage!

MIght be a ragtop version by then
Yes that's a thought. But has the chassis/body been designed* for this or will it be like the Ford streetKa, a driving disappointment? After Carol's Ka, even with the 1600 lump instead of 1300, with wider tyres and more weight / less stiffness that was a horrid drive.

*Always assuming they thought that far ahead ...

Yes; they engineered-in a ragtop & LWB version.

They do intend to develop the car & not just let it wither.

Does that not mean the coupe version is horribly overweight?

It's very light, by modern (rubbish) standards - same as an S2000. Although that's an absence of soundproofing/sort of plastics twat journos can rap their knuckles upon.

Just because they provided for the top hats/FEA doesn't mean it's in there already. Although the high torsional rigidity is good for the ride & handling.

PS - the F-type has a very similar row of toggle switches; it amused me!

They should do a v8 one for Soulcrew and me.
Failing that a v10 quad turbo

I've really been enjoying the M in the better weather, the TC light isn't broken after all. But I do frequently look down and think 'handy having my licence'.

Hmmm
