Road marking - WTF is this ? nearly killed someone

We have (possibly only one left now, but still) 'filter in turns' in Jersey where two (or more) roads come to a junction and you filter one at a time with the adjointing road. It works very well indeed.
Not sure whether these exist in the UK?

Regardless of who actually has priority going straight across without stopping or slowing is lunacy. And more frequently practiced by cyclists.
There is a road near me where a cycle lane crosses a main road.
You can clearly see the give way sign on this pic but both cyclists and pedestrians cross the road without looking.
I know I can be a bit stubborn on a zebra crossing but everybody knows cars should stop for those. And I wouldn't walk out regardless!

I'm a very big fan of the US/Canadian way of having 3-way or 4-way stops.
For those that aren't familiar with it, you come to a complete stop at the sign and the first person to get there goes first.
If there are many cars queuing then one car is let out at a time in a clockwise order.

I've often wondered if (as they drive on the right) it becomes give way to the left.

I've been noticing more and more recently, cyclists simply don't give a shit about stopping at red lights. It's becoming more blatant.
I look forward to the day one rides into the side on me

Its red tarmac so it must be a cycle path
If it was me, I'd think a cyclist on the road has right of way, but a cyclist on the pavement (even if the pavement is a cycle path) ought to stop and wait for traffic. After all, you don't give way to pedestrians on the pavement, except at a zebra crossing.
It's pretty poor to just install these things without explicit signs.
I've been cycling a lot the last few months, and I have far more problems with pedestrians meandering around the cycle paths than I ever do with cars when I join the road.

there's a cycling equivalent to people who use the road like a race track
these people are a bloody menace
this is mainly because they ride without any regard to the conditions - ie pedestrians sharing the same area

One day day a cyclist scooting up the inside of traffic at lights or junction will meet the inside of my open van door as the assistant nips out whilst we're stopped.

And it works, you dont do it twice!
Now we need a campaign like this to harrass all the 'middle lane twats' choking our motorway system.
