OK small quiz. what is this then

OK I saw this car at the Classic Car show at Silverstone on the Jaguar Drivers' Club stand. I believe it is a replica of a C or D type that was modified to improve it's aerodynamics for racing.

Could be based on a late C-Type or early D-Type - I think that the first of the D's were built for Le Mans in 1954... difficult to tell.

As stated above it is not a Lister, it is too early but could be some sort of special from another "coachbuilder"...

OK I can definately say this is Tony Brown's recreation of the 1952 "Kettle" C Type.

lowdrag 'C' type. all the 3 LeMans original bodies were destroyed and those C's put back to original spec (overheating problems meant they didn't do well at Lemans)

the first replica to be made of these ill fated cars and even though it is a replica is is still a six figured value car .

only 17 left registered.
I occasionally see one in a village near to where I live. It's in the wonderful 70's turquoise and IIRC has very similar wheels on it to the one you've shown.

Quite attractive in a 70's-tastic kinda way.

The guy also has a mint 80's Silvia.

Saw a lovely Reliant Kitten on the A41 yesterday - does that count?

That reminds me, I need to charge me spare digi camera so I can get some snaps!

Love that RX4! Bit Kustom Kar Krazy.

The B16 refers to Volvo's 1600cc pushrod lump. It was later expanded into the B18 & B20 before being redesigned as the OHC C series for the 240.
