In 40 years or so of driving on the roads I have had about 15 punctures. 9 out of 10 of these have involved nails; on average about 1 every 3 years with an average mileage of 10k. I now have another puncture!!! Where the feck do these nails come from? There are 26 million cars in the UK and if each gets a puncture every 3 years then that's 860,000 nails a year. WTF. When I find who is responsible

edit: just had a thought, if only 1 in 10 nails cause a puncture then that's 8.5 million nails being added to the roads in the uk per annum. Makes you think

Just a hobby, something to keep your mind occupied.

Just kidding, I have simillar waves of anger about such things. I went through a period of having about 3 punctures in about 6 months a few years back. This is for my weekend toy that hardly goes anywhere and they were all 'sidewall sally's' that can't be repaired!

I've had 1 puncture in 9 years of driving and that was easily repaired by kwik-fit for free! so i would say your on the unlucky side, my dad who has been driving for 40 plus years has had 2 punctures...

I have had about 4 punctures all from nails.

Amazingly managed to miss one last week - had a screw that went through the rubber of the tyre, but didn't puncture it!

I honestly think people throw these out on the road because most implements are brand new looking/unused!

I had one a little while back that upon further inspection turned out not to be one! was the head of a screw in the rubber but the rest of the screw was thankfully missing!!

Was in the same position not long ago. Happened to my 500mile, almost new rear tyre, and it was on the last day I took the S out for a blast before hibernating it for the winter.
