A Porsche dilema
It recently struck me, with used prices being what they are, that if one was in the market for a Porsche between £20k and £30k, a Cayman S would be the obvious choice for the keen driver. But with the new Boxster out, the last gen Boxster S has become disproportionately more affordable than the Cayman alternative. What that means then, is that you can have a 3.4 Boxster for the same money as a c2007 3.2 Cayman.
So which would you go for? The Boxster would be quicker, and newer, but the Cayman is stiffer and perhaps more focused...

Boxster.
Its a nice choice to have but given neither is what you'd call practical I think the addition of open top fun vs a bit of torsional stiffness (#vs a car designed as conv).. open top driving is fun

If your not getting a Cayman S I think the Boxter is the one to go for.
The extra power will be nice and the newer car is always a bonus.
Not actually driven a boxter myself.
But then have you driven both? They will be pretty much identical inside apart of the roof.
I am looking forward to next year when they shoudl be revealing the next Gen Cayman to match the recent Boxter update.
