Parking Regulations
Sorry this has been covered before
Just a quick question to ask: does the sign with the parking restrictions have to be visible from the parking space that the ticket has been applied to?

I received a parking ticket in Portsmouth today for parking in a bay that had restrictions on how long you can stay there for.
My journey to the bay, and when I got out of my car did not take me past the very small, very high sign (3m) that stipulates the warning. The sign is a good 40m from where I was parked.
My understanding is that there should be a sign every 30m or so, and within 5m of the end of the bay...is this true?
I've had a look at the Traffic Management Act 2004, which could take me years to find the right info, without any luck.
Any advice would be great I'm sure someone on here has the knowledge.
EDIT: I have photos of the area too

No, not exactly.
But it needs to be displayed so that any customer of the car park will see it as they use the carpark.
So, it can be displayed as you enter the car, displayed as you leave on foot through a recognized exit, or displayed on signs throughout the carpark.
I remember one case that was thrown out because the sign was just on one wall on the other side of the carpark and not all customer would see it.

I've received about 80 tickets on my street over the years, and none of them stuck. Send me a PM and we can have a chat about things.
For example, there can be no errors on the ticket, ie. the tax disc number and dates must be correct, the make, model, and colour all need to be correct, etc. If there are any errors it generally will be invalid. Hell, I even once got one with the number plate incorrect!

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately, the ticket is up to scratch in terms of accuracy
It is a council ticket too, not a private company.
Cheers for the link, I'll take a look
