HB Vivas had very direct steering, a fiercely aprupt clutch and NVH wasn't invented yet. You knew exactly what was going on.

Well we washed it polished it and it looks good, front bumper has been resprayed not very well , but looks better than front of my S, it has paint!
The wheels could do with a refurbish at some time
We did come up with a good mod, Toby says a lot of people have problems with the plastic cover on the inlet manifold touching making noise at certain revs, his did, we cured this by adding a tap washer to each fixing bolt to raise it a touch, the tap washer hole is tight on the bolt and retains the bolt as a bonus

I will ask him to take some pics, blimey its bad enough that i spent all sat afternoon washing and polishing etc etc.
And we didnt even get inside, apart from door shuts and what seems to be the recuring problem of Green Mildew in the shut above the tailgate. Every car either one of us looked at was ready to grow spuds in the compost tha was building up in there.
The brakes all had plenty of pads the fronts almost new and this is confirmed by receipts.
The worrying thing for me is a complete mix and mismatch of tyres that the previous owners had fitted to this relatively high performance car. 2 Totally non desript tyres on the front, one Federal and one Kuhmo on the rear. Toby says this is his priority to be sorted out.

Tends to say the previous owner ran the car on a budget.
Or the original wheels were kerbed and ramdom replacement ones with tyres were bought to sell.

(not knowing the lad to be fair!) I wouldn't trust Toby's priorities
Personally I would buy/fit suitable tyres (using my financial clout) on credit
then agree a repayment schedule with him
- and personally fill in the STO slip

Its scary for sure, no i dont think kirbing from the general condition of the rims only evidence of a few light scuffs. I think its more likely that as with many people they just do not understand about maintaining cars in a safe condition etc etc and get a puncture then scrimp on the most improtant thing a new tyre.
He has the money and its his problem I am not a Helicopter parent, and will not behave like a bank, they have those up the high street. He is fully aware of the short comings of the tyres and it will be sorted soon. He is already pricing up new Bridgestones and Toyos

Another vote for the DC2 Integra over a civic if only for the LSD.
I recently sold mine which was a fairly clean 72K mile, UK supplied car for £5500 I think similar milage but newer civics were around the same money, but I 'd expect a good standard DC2 to hold it's value better.
