Default No2 Son wants Civic Type R

No 2 son was saving to get a new Sirrocco but has decided against debt, top boy in my estimation and without any prompting from me.

He has about £8k saved and is now thinking of a Civic type R, he wants an un- molested car no mods, and has already sorted insurance etc.

So what can he expect to get ?

Many thanks in advance for constructive comments and advice

snap - No1 son (i've only got one though) is also looking for CTR. Spent a couple of hours driving his cousins and now wants one so look forward to the responses you get.

Is your No 2 looking at private or H garaged cars?

I'd go for a 'Teg personally, but you won't get much of one for that much money, I'm afraid.

Check out Pistonheads classifieds to get a feel - usually 'nicer' cars from 'nicer' people there.

Indeed; the DC-5 Integra is basically the same architecture as the EP3 Civic, with a prettier body and the engine/chassis turned up to '11'. Hydraulic power steering replaces the anaesthetised EPS, for example.

The DC-2 Integra is a proper old-Skool Honda and often cited as the best-handling FWD car.

But then I didn't really like the EP3 Civic I drove. Fast, but absolutely no finesse.

The Teg is a hatch, just like the Llama is a Quadruped.

The folding rear seat was a option (minus the body upper crossbrace IIRC)

I'd take the ITR over a CTR (i've owned one)

Bit rarer and rawer.
