Have you ever given a little blast on the horn because youthink driver in outside lane might be drifting in a bit too close?Polit toot and all that.THEN all hell breaks loose.Other driver blasts his horn several times then gets behind you blasting horn again and you can see him in rear view mirror waving his arms and shouting like a maniac.

I agree. The world would be a great place if it wasn't for other people.
Damn them all.
Merry Christmas.

It's often the first driver in the Q enjoying holding everybody up by pottering and delighted at the opportunity to make things worse for those behind by slowing down even more to allow you in and add to the Q.
Much of the frustration encountered on the roads is caused by those who enjoy being a bastard and intentionally driving in such a manner so as to piss off everybody around them. Rise to the bait and piss THEM off then they go bonkers.
I remain convinced that the victims of many accidents and incidents are as a result of their actions antagonising others - thus the 'Oh! woe is me victim' is usually the perpertrator.

I see it EVERY single day driving about the country.
Particularly prevalent in Plymouth and other 'National Graveyards Of Ambition'
where they drive at you hard and fast just to get on the horn.
Rarely I make a trip these days without wanting to batter some idiot.

it also encourages 'dangerous' overtaking manoeuvres.
But it's the only attention a lot of these saddoes ever get.

Another good example yesterday.
Approaching a mini, painted roundabout at a cross roads. Left and straight ahead are clear and I can see a car sitting to the right (i.e. has priority over me) from about 150 yards away and since the road is semi residential and there's frost about I'm only doing about 10mph.
As I see the car it starts to pull onto the roundabout then when the driver sees me she slams the anchors on and ends up half way across the stop line waiting for me (who has to give her right of way) to arrive at the roundabout. 10 ~20 seconds later I pull up at the roundabout and she's still waiting and looking at me. After a couple more seconds she beckons me to pull away.
If she'd a) just pulled away straight away when the road was free neither of us would have been delayed or b) pulled across when she could see I was stopped we'd both have been away and a damned sight quicker than we were!

There's a few of those painted roundabouts near us. A right royal pain in the backside as loads of people do what she did and you end up shouting, waving and flashing them to just get on and go..!
The world is full of eedjuts.

Ah the Mexican stand off at roundabouts - why is it people DO NOT GET that the give way is to your RIGHT and not whoever else you can see on / near / vaguely close to the roundabout. Even buses do this in Brighton - followed by the "barge across as I am bigger than you anyway" routine

The other night a white van completely failed to stop as I was crossing (already on) a zebra crossing, he then continued onto a mini roundabout forcing a car entering the roundabout to his right to stop suddenly.
As he drove on he flashed his hazards a couple of times, so that makes it all OK.

Whichever way I want to get out of my estate I have to cross one. I never have a problem. Be clear and decisive and you get across no worries. Soon as you get someone shuffling around and umming&ahhhhing they turn into a nightmare
