New speed scamera device?
Has anyone seen this possible 'speeding' device before?
I was driving through Huddersfield this afternoon in a 30mph zone. Coming over the crest of a gentle hill, 100 yards ahead I see a police car stationary on the opposite side of the road with its lights flashing - has someone broken down I wonder etc and slow to within the 30 limit, ahem.
Almost on my side of the road is its driver, staring at me and the car in front, through what I can only describe as a polaroid camera type device
It looked just like a normal photgraphic camera, and was black with small illuminous yellow colouring. Luckily he seemed more interested in the Clio in front of me that was doing well over 40 than myself, doing 35ish over the brow...
Was this a 'speeding' device does anyone know, or could he have been checking us for tax discs etc, or just fancied a pic of the local flora and fauna?!
It defo wasn't a laser speed gun or anything of that kind. Seen those before unfortunately.
I've never seen anything like that before - I'm only assuming it was some kind of speeding, sorry 'safety' scamera device by the way he was directly pointing it in our direction as though he was a Japanese tourist on a day out in York. (You had to see it to believe it, really)
What was even more daft was that he'd parked his car bang in the middle of the road, (very clever and safe) and was leaning over into our carriageway. Nothing like creating a hazard in the road that wouldn't otherwise be there is there?!!
Excuse the obvious grudges against the rozza's, but this is a new one on me, well, atleast for Huddersfield anyway.
Philip.
