The Neil Howard Memorial Stages Rally
Spent a cracking day at Oulton watching the stage rally, a very well attended event by competitors and spectators,
set off early doors to meet up with Lee and Alex, had to defrost the car first then drive steady as the roads were very slick, beautiful morning for a drive on a day that just got better as it passed,
when we got there the stage's had already started so the drive over the bridge and through the pay booths was torcherous hearing the cars at full chat and not being able to see, anyway we soon parked up and got to see the action, but the problem with taking youngsters namely ALEX is that unless it's Jap they haven't got a clue,
our friend and fellow member ALEX thought that this car was an Hillman Imp so you can tell we had to spend the day explaining to ALEX which car was which (except for the Jap stuff of cause)
there was a real good mix of cars out on track,
I'll put some more up a bit later

Great day out! I love Oulton Park and to see and hear such a variety of classic cars being driven at full-chat was a proper treat for the eyes but especially ears. gotta love N/A
And we found yet another F20 thief, this time an Escort, he's got it running on Jenvey throttle bodies, sounded terrific.
The best thing was that the last two stages were ran Anti-Clockwise around the circuit, with the very last stage taking place in the dark. So it was incredible to see cars tackling Druids THE WRONG WAY AROUND & IN THE DARK!!
Heres some trail pics from Lodge Corner as it got dark, fraid it was the best my little compact could muster in such poor light
Braking from about a ton forty, squirelling around and in the 6R4's case spinning into the gravel
Cool pics there Dave
Esp love tail out ones, post up the Metro 6R4 spin at druids!
