I had a 1.8 Mk2.5 with over 300bhp - now that was a fun car and much much quicker than a S2k and probably quicker than my supercharged S2k. I would miss the electric roof though

Sort of depends.

I'd suggest a snail would be better on an S2K; you forget how wobbly the MX-5 body/chassis actually was!

Then again, if you want a tamer car for softer back-lane cruising that can also be driven on its limits all of the time, a step backwards isn't a bad thing.

To be fair the roads are so ******* awful here that you can't push on for fear of hitting a pothole or loose tarmac from deteriorating road surface.

Can't remember the last time I Vtec'd yo...

I think you'd be going backwards for sure Carl, less power, less desirable, dare i say worse looking.

Its not a bad car and it does what i does well...being a reasonably priced, reliable and fun sport'ish car but overall it isn't in the same league as an S2000.

I think are good cars i really do but they are a hell of lot less macho IYKWI

Oi! I don't drive a macho car!

Agree that MX5's are a bit more girly though...

I'd delete that photo IIWY.

There'll be some hellatwat trying to mimic that front camber/offset on their S2000 next. Or telling you it needs slammin.
