Loving the lotus enthusiasm for the Evora, ikobo.

I've not had many chances to get mine out for weeks. I fully expect the battery will be dead when I next turn it over. Consequently no lotus updates, I know, letting the side down. I expect there will be much more from me in the way of vehicular updates in 2014.

Pretty much as you said Ade, tons of room for one car, nowhere near enough for two.

Chesh, I absolutely love the thing to be honest, so glad I've bought in to the whole Lotus brand. As you can see in the pic above I've had the Lotus motorsport barge boards fitted (the black sills) which give the car a meaner look. Also the leather that was on the recaros looked a bit shiny and crappy, shockingly looking a bit worn on the bolsters already despite only being two years old, so I had them retrimmed and they went back in the car Thursday.

It's all cosmetic stuff as performance wise I couldn't ask for more from the car. I'll definitely be upgrading to a newer Evora after this one.

Those seats look amazing. They look like my old rs4 ones which were bloody brilliant.

How wide would that be then Ikobo? Been looking at new properties and all the double garages seem to be 13-14 foot wide with no chance of trying to fit 2 cars in, wouldn't want to spend all that cash on a claim that its a double when in fact it isnt.

Looking more than likely ill have to just build one.

Oh and one of the cars could be very similar to yours

A good double is >6m wide internal and same depth IMO

Mine is 6mx6m external for planning ease and position. Depends whether you just want cars in there or other stuff too. Mine is 1 car plus gym.

Ikobo's looks about 4.5m wide internally to me

I've been inspired into checking if mine starts.

About 5m-6m is usual and the only problem you have with low cars is really down to the awkward access through long doors:

Bear in mind that those two are 1,750 & 1,810mm wide; about the same as a modern B & a C segment! The Evora is a lot wider. And has long, fat doors.

I almost put it up for sale the other day. Just nipping to the shops, short journeys I was getting slightly fed up with the concession needed for ownership.

Then decided to take it to the peaks for a day. In love again. On roads in the current state, nothing is more exciting. It just feels alive like no other car - almost organic.

I got back from the drive imperceptibly shaking from the concentration involved. No other car would imbue that kind of reaction.

As a counterpoint I've been driving an rs4 ( new one) all week. No offence to anyone that has one but I think it's the most anodyne thing I've ever driven. Completely one dimensional. The chassis is crap. It just doesn't adjust its line, and understeers.

There's magic in them loti

Completely agree mike. The chassis in the old RS4 was crap. Insane power but detached from the wheel like nothing I have ever driven
