Sounds like an offence code at a Savile trial

I remember picking mine up on a thursday night when I bought it. Drove into work on the friday morning and parked up in the car park but unfortunately right in front of a packed smoking shelter.

Then had to clamber out of it on all fours as I hadn't learned the technique

I spent the rest of that day googling "How do you get out of an elise" and fortunately there were several useful threads with pictures on SELOC

Fitted the Larini. Awesome soundtrack. Daytona dave and the lads were stars. Made the job loads easier. Big shout to Daytona and his setup.

Colin, any chance we could pop out for a quick blast if you're down at Rays one Saturday?

I keep coming back to these as my next move, and seeing yours last Saturday...
Just noticed this, looking back through the thread. Of course, no problems. I think (despite what you may read from others) and there are clearly exceptions, don't think of these as your daily drive in the way you do your S. The S is capable on both fronts. For me, the elise would be a royal pita to use everywhere - too many 'normal car' compromises. Luggage space, noise, gettin in and out, etc

Get one of these and a cheap beater
Hey cheers for the ride on Sat Colin I've got a bit more understanding of how much of a compromise it would be to own one,. Loved the crazy go-kart handling, sound of that zaust, & great brakes. Funny when I got back in those comfy S2000 seats though, it felt like a luxurious Bentley!

Recorded this clip of the Larini but it doesnt really do it justice I'm afraid

Thanks for that video! I went out this afternoon for a little drive, then got in my missus car and it felt like climbing into a comfy bed. Elise has no comfortable gene in them. I couldn't put up with one as a daily.

From the second Chesh wrote his Elise write up I knew I was in trouble. So I've now joined the Lotus ranks and will be collecting my new car next Saturday. As much as the initial plan had been to also buy an Elise I kind of got distracted in the dealership by something else and will be getting behind the wheel of an Evora S. I think it's safe to say I went through exactly the same grin factor experience though, bonkersly good fun!
