Liverpool to MegaMeet(North York Moors) - Interesting Route / Stopoffs/Attractions?

Liverpool to MegaMeet(North York Moors) - Interesting Route / Stopoffs/Attractions?
I'll be getting the Ferry from Dublin to Liverpool overnight on Thursday 26th September to head to Mega Meet 9.
It will be approx 6:30am when I drive off the boat, giving me approx 12hours to reach the venue.
So, do I arrive very early and enjoy the facilities at the hotel?
Or, is there anything well worth stopping at/any interesting routes to take?

Google doesn't understand fun!
Go up North from Liverpool (hopefully someone will have local knowledge, if not just scroll in on the map and see what looks fun), the head across the Dales that way.
M62 = die from boredom (it's my daily commute).
