Honda hybrid Sportscar
Just read this on a leasing company's newsletter, does anybody know what it looks like?
Honda confirms production of next generation 'green' cars
HONDA has confirmed plans to put its latest 'green' cars into production - the FCX hydrogen fuel cell car and a lightweight, hybrid sportscar.
While, the hydrogen car will go on sale in the United States and Japan next year, UK plans have yet to be revealed.
A car based on Honda's CR-Z Concept - a compact, lightweight sportscar powered by a hybrid powertrain - will go into production alongside the carmaker's forthcoming 'global hybrid' family car, which is due to launch in 2009. The latter, which will definitely come to the UK, will be cheaper smaller than the current Honda Civic Hybrid.
John Kingston, environment manager at Honda (UK), said: 'Hybrids have always been seen as niche products, and hybrid car design has mostly been based around practicality and versatility. The CR-Z Concept looks stunning, and shows that green cars can be sexy and exciting - but also minimise environmental impact.
'The fact that we will be producing cars like this - and the global hybrid - proves that hybrid cars are becoming key volume products within our range. All of this means that Honda will be selling over 250,000 hybrids a year by 2009.' (Honda: October 24).

That was the Del Sol, according to CRX diehards.
Stolen from 'Car':
"...apart from the fact that Acura has no presence in the European market, and so will have to be sold in some dealers as a standalone car, is that there was a long discussion before the Civic was launched about changing its name to something more dynamic.
The decision was made that if you could change buyers

I also like the idea of a non-gear changing smooth electric motor

It needn't change too much; deeper windows & some bumper shutlines, mostly.
I've nothing against CVTs, but hauling that Dynastart flywheel & a battery around seems to add unnecessary weight to a lighweight sports! Still having head problems with that.
