I'm afraid your logical reasoning is lacking

my mistake - I thought the 964 included much earlier cars - hence my link

I don't know what the pre-964 was called - they are available for

I 'was' buying 997 Carrera last year and a 996 Turbo a few months back and a GT3 a few weeks back, there is a theme going here

Because it's a lot less boring than talking about kicking a pig's bladder about.

It's down entirely to a question of style; The GT-R is an admirable Prelude replacement as a road car. The GT2 probably shouldn't be driven on the roads. Not round here, at least.

In reality, there's a few who would swap a Porsche for a Nissan and a lot more who absolutely wouldn't.

I think I'd rather have neither, thanks. Not at the moment, anyway.
