Black would have worked OK, but the Swabians have no colour sense.

... ., they'd be over a bag each. Dunno what the PE ones cost. ...

Ultimately, it's their obesession with FREDs that could have you in tears.

I want to see Nick's input to this thread. I think it will be Navajo like in its obscure references.

Not hard to decypher (for a change), but when discussing handling I remember him saying "It's all that bastard Isaac Newton's fault".

Wise words indeed.

Thank you for the kindly votes of confidence!

Chilled,

Schwaben is one of the southern states making up the german federation, containing Stuttgart as its capital. It is famous for its fat, gutturally-grunting farmers and its national dish, Saumagen (pigs stomach) that Mrs T. famously refused to eat. M-B colours and heavy-jowled designs tend to reflect the national characteristic. cf. Borgwards & VWs from northern Lower Saxony; like the people and the language, they could more easily be mistaken for Dutch or even English...

A bag is rock n' roll false rhyming slang for a 'bag of sand - grand'.

P E is Polyuerethane; popular for bumpers and the like.

FREDS are Fuecking Ridiculous Electronic Devices; usually made by Robert Bosch GmbH and as stable as Adolf Hitler...

HTH!

It was only Schwab I didn't get, I know what most of the rest are. But it's refreshing to have someone not an LCD panderer for once.

Nick seems to be spending a lot of time on German websites recently.

He's even been looking at Z4's

Actually I do spend quite some time on German websites! I like Germans a lot better than I like the majority of their cars. Even the cars that I respect for their engineering, but wouldn't want personally.
