If you were presented with the following what would youuuuu do?

You are about to purchase a car with no warranty.

Main dealer inspection was carried out 5 weeks ago at the cost of

Again, it depends what it is?

Have you spoken to the dealer who serviced it - did you get their opinion on the situation?

Dealer inspections are no guarantee of anything much. It's more to see if the dealer can extract some money from the punter.

Personally, if I were spending that much privately, I'd get someone with specialist knowledge of the car (M5 I assume) to look it over for anything that the dealer didn't see and the seller didn't know about (just because he seems honest, doesn't make him aware of something about to let go expensively).

Worth the peace of mind IMO.

Hmm

difficult to find someone with psecialist knowledge though?

Any ideas. Think FieldL used to have a bimmer?

Phone up DEKRA - get their 100 and whatever point check, worth the money IYAM. They are so well used nowadays they might even have a guy who is M savy.. worth asking.

Actually - for the M5 even their budget check is expensive... how about bouncing the idea off a different BM dealer - not sure if they moonlight but I reckon you could get a BMW technician on his day off for a smaller fee. just got to know one..
