I find that as well - there's an awful lot to take in in a short space of time.
Went for a ride this morning, and it was showers, overcast, generally pretty horrible - couldn't see all that well, and didn't pick up the hump on the blind right hander just after a left hander. Got very close to crossing the double white on the bend
as I tried to lose speed without upsetting the balance 
Just made it.
Rear end keeps feeling like it is moving around periodically on certain surfaces in crap weather (bit like the S
) so you never know whether you are close to the grip limits or not.
Wet roads themselves I'm not too bothered by - it's the not being able to see properly that makes it difficult to see all the info available.
Every ride is a learning experience for me - as long as I get home safely, I must have learnt something.

I've heard folk say that you get the same smearing problems on visors with Rain X, but then like the S it maybe depends on how well iut's applied. Rain Wizard (similar) which I used on the S works fine if applied properly.
