Yup - there's a little thermostat/switch which you can mount on the yoke or bodywork somewhere. Mine are fed by a relay activated by the headlights so I don't forget to switch them off - they use a lot of power so will run done the battery pretty quick if you leave them on by accident.
....considering I'm too scared to fit my bungs.

RE: Visors .....
I have two helmets, one has a dark visor, the other clear.
If I go ou and there is any chance it will be dark when I return I will use the helmet with the clear visor and use sunglasses.
Otherwise I take the other helmet.

My Arai has a quick release system for the visor.
I have an iridium visor (gold, purple & blue etc..) and will take the clear visor with me in a "visor bag" which fits inside my jacket. You may need to get on that rowing machine first though San
Then I just switch them over when the light starts to fade.

Another question too (maybe a stupid one )
There is only one light on my headlights. I assume that there isn't some secret button somewhere to turn the other one on.
Is it quite easy to fit the other one? (should I be reading the manual? )
Why do a lot of people not?

Are they worth it then Euan? And how easy are they to fit for a technphobe?

(I take it you're not in surgery then? )
If you have ever had freezing hands, you'll certainly think they're worth it for a relatively small outlay. You could always try better glove arrangements first though - muffs are another option, but they look silly enough on a tourer, and would be much worse on a sportsbike I would think.
I don't think a dealer would charge much to fit grips as it's a pretty easy job for them.
Re the headlights, is it a battery power saving thing that the dipped lights only feature on one side? (Both come on on my bike)
